Maui: Twin Falls and Fresh Fruit

28 02 2013

Our workshop hosts, Bohdii and Leilah, showed us around their home and land by Twin Falls yesterday. A small group owns the land, but allows locals and tourists to walk the property. They have a number of screened yurts for different purposes, and have planted many fruit trees. It’s a very open air way to live, so different from what’s possible in Minnesota!

I’ve been having coconut in every way possible, from chips to candy to drinking fresh coconut water (see photo below). It would be so great to be able to walk out my back door to pick fresh bananas, papayas, passion fruit, oranges, coconuts, etc. The last photo is their partners’ fruit stand with hula dancer parking cone! Oh, and sorry but no photos of the falls; I didn’t make it that far due to a gimpy knee and low energy from a cold. Resting up today…
