On to Maui

24 02 2013

After 3 flights (one 10 hours long) and a 10 hour layover in the Manila airport, I finally arrived on Maui on Thursday. I’m staying at a beautiful retreat center and organic farm called Hale Akua, on the east side of the island.

It rained here – hard – from Tuesday to Friday, with flash flood warnings, road closures, raging rivers, etc. Luckily this place is on high ground. Our hosts drove our group to a sunny beach with golden sand on the drier west side. Here are a few images from this leg of the journey. (I still love seeing the clouds from above when I fly!)

I love the photos and hear about your adventures, Diane. I can’t wait to see more and hear your stories when you get back to MN! Thanks for sending so much beauty into our snow-filled winter!
