Bali: Greenfields Bungalows in Ubud

16 02 2013

Left the beach town of Padang Bai this morning for Ubud. Found a great place for $30/night with bfast, just down the street from the Yoga Barn
where you can drop in for classes and speakers. Gorgeous pond full of huge (10″ across) lotus flowers. Also a salt water swimming pool. Views of the surrounding rice fields and strong wifi. Staying here 3 nights, seeing a different part of Ubud this time.

A most fantastic adventure Diane. Laura and got just a taste of Asia during a week’s visit with Anna and Will in Singapore. But Bali! More restful indeed! — Philipp

Hi Phillip. Yes it’s been quite a post-retirement adventure! I’m definitely out of my daily work schedule mentality. I recommend Bali the next time you and Laura plan a trip, although once you’re this far you may as well go to Thailand as well…

Omg 10″ lotus flowers?! Incredible. I’m so glad you found another beautiful place to stay from your photos and travelogue it seems you are in paradise – I’m sure there are other (less beautiful) sides to Bali, but I’m certainly enjoying these idylic images!

Fran, guess I should show the other side, like the treacherous sidewalks, but it’s more fun to take pictures of beautiful things!
