Bali Rice Fields

5 02 2013

We had the taxi drop us off at the edge of Ubud and walked on a “footpath” up through some rice fields. I put footpath in parens because that’s what the sign said, but we often had to move off the narrow path for passing motorbikes –which are everywhere here. Beautiful! We came across this cafe perched on a platform in the middle of the fields, so we stopped in b4 heading back. They even have wi-fi, although it wasn’t working.

We were going to hire a driver for a tour to temples and other sites today, but apparently we overdid it yesterday and we both needed to rest our aging knees and other sore body parts, so it’s a day of rest. On to the beach town on the east coast tomorrow. (Click an image for larger views.). Diane
